King's Meads nature reserve is one of the best sites in the county for damselflies and dragonflies. There is a wide variety of habitats, from ditches and wetlands, to meadows and woodland, to scrub and chalk grassland. This provides everything these incredible insects need throughout their lifecycle. Visible species change over the course of the summer months, ensuring there is always someone to see - weather permitting! Records are being submitted from 2022 for Hertfordshire's dragonfly atlas, so anything we see will be important data, contributing to the conservation of these magnificent animals and their habitat.
Suitable for adults and older children ages 8 plus.
This event is weather dependent and may need to be cancelled at short notice.
Please note: some sections of the walk are quite steep, and might not be comfortable for those with restricted mobility.
